Aqina Group’s Brief History Begins More Than 20 Years Ago
Our Chairman and Executive Director, Dato’ Tan Chin Long started off by trading live chickens from Malaysia to Singapore. Customer base grew over the years and in 1994, Aqina Group’s first operating subsidiary Boong Poultry Pte Ltd was incorporated in March 1994 to take on this expanded business.
As an established chicken production operator in Malaysia and Singapore, Aqina Group went into semi-integrated chicken production by owning several farms in Malaysia to meet the increasing demand of its valued clients in Malaysia as well as in Singapore.
Gradually, Aqina Group envisioned itself as a “Healthier Meat Choices” provider in the market place and began to improve its poultry business activities to provide its customers fresh supply of halal processed chicken meat products. In 2015, Aqina Group started a halal-certified slaughtering cum processing plant in Taman Perindustrian Ulu Choh, Pekan Nenas, Johor, Malaysia with an hourly production capacity of 6,000 heads of chickens. In May 2016, it had achieved Halal Certificate from Department of Islamic Development Malaysia.
Over the years, Aqina Group has continued to expand and invest significantly in its poultry processing and production including breeding of Kampung chickens and has worked diligently towards quality assurance of all its products to meet the demands of its valued customers.
